This short film depicts a captured German 88mm FLAK gun, which is currently displayed at the Puckapunyal Tank Museum, located one hour north of Melbourne in the State of Victoria, near the town of Seymour. This gun was captured at the Battle of El Alamein by Australian troops, troops from the same units that formed the legendary "Rats of Tobruk".

In this film we commemo rate the ships that formed the backbone of the Royal Australian Navy in World War 2. Designed to be built quickly and in large numbers, these ships served in most of the main naval theatres of war and were indispensa ble in the initial stages of the war. A total of 60 were eventually built, and one is still afloat.

Riding the T34

The only working order T-34/85 tank in Australia is located at the Bandiana Army Museum, near the Australian rural centre of Albury-Wodonga. This unique piece of war history is believed to have been present at the battle of Berlin. The tank is shown in working order, is taken out and driven around, and information on the many varied and interesting technical details of the tank are presented. A must for serious scale modellers and military history buffs, this film shows the T-34 tank, probably the finest piece of Soviet World War 2 equipment, "up close and personal". We are indebted to the staff at the museum for allowing access to this footage. Many thanks to the Australian Army for maintaining a fine museum collection.   http://www.defence.gov.au/army/awma_ mus/
